CETaqua - Centro Tecnólogico del Agua, is a non-profit private foundation. The centre is an agent and an integrator organism of the research, the technology development and the innovation in the field of water - especially in the urban cycle - with national and international vocation. The founding members are: AGBAR - Societat General d’Aigües de Barcelona (private water cycle Company in Spain has more than a hundred years of experience); UPC - Technical University of Catalonia (public University of recognized prestige specialized in the engineering, sciences and architecture areas); and CSIC - Spanish National Research Council (the major public research organism in Spain, embraces all the fields of the knowledge, since the basic research to the most advanced technological developments). CETaqua is constituted from the necessity of having a reference center in the water field and profits from the interaction of the founding partners, which allows covering the most basic investigation field of research and giving to the center an ample and integrated vision of the national territory. The activity of CETaqua can be summarized in: development of R&D projects in the field of the integral water cycle, and appliance of the R&D results (results transferring and scientific diffusion). The R&D project areas of the center are: new water resources, impact of global change in water resources, asset management and water quality.

Isabel Escaler (born in 1972) is civil engineer, specialized in hydraulics and environment, with 10 years experience in drainage systems within companies of the AGBAR group, working with real time flood forecasting systems as a practitioner, and now as responsible for the area of global change in CETaqua. She has participated in several projects related with floods as end-user.
