EGMASA is created as Government-run Company by Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government) in the year 1989 dedicated to engineering, works and services. The wide range of services, the weight of our experience and the guarantee of our global solution, allow us to undertake integrally any type of environmental project.
Also as an instrument of the Andalusia Regional Government, EGMASA has been working for years in collaboration with the public and private sector to start up new business projects that spring from completely new ideas or enter into sectors with little activity.
Egmasa has 4,535 workers, mainly dedicated to the Prevention and extinction of forest fires. Egmasa is divided in six Operating Divisions. The one involve in IMPRINTS Project is the Division of Wildfires and Emergencies. It is responsible of prevents, reduces, eliminates, controls and monitors of wildfires and in cooperation with others institutions also treats different risks such as, floods, accidental shoreline pollution, accidents in chemical industry, etc.
These activities are developed by the Group of Emergencies of Andalucia (GREA). In case of floods the task also include the allocation of human resources during critical phases and support for the coordination of fire brigades, police forces and other key players to confront the emergency.
Related to this, we are now involved in a I+D+I project to develop a Hydro meteorological Alert System in a pilot basin in Andalusia.


Antonio Santiago. He is Agronomist Engineer, specialist in Hydrology and Natural Risks and he is now the Head of the Natural and Technological Risks Analysis Unit of the Wildfires and Emergencies Department in EGMASA. This unit is mainly in charge of giving support to the operational units providing the best information technically based to the actions developed.

Mª Jesús Calvo. She is Forest Engineer, specialist in Hydrology and Natural Risks and she is now the responsible of the development of the Hydro meteorological Alert System project in EGMASA.
