Description

The Build Up Index (BUI) is a numeric rating of the total amount of fuel available for combustion. It combines the DMC and the DC. This is a variable of the Fire Weather Index rating system designed and adopted by the Canadian Forest Service. The dataset has been developed through a collaboration between the Joint Research Centre and ECMWF under the umbrella of the European Forest Fire Information (EFFIS) system and the Global Wildfires Information System (GWIS), a joint initiative of the GEO and the Copernicus Work Programs.
